Kindness Initiative
Dear Colleagues,
Each week, I deliver a sign off in my video update that says, “be kind to yourself and be kind to others.” Every day I see actions large and small that show your kindness to others. Those actions not only make us better people but make Upstate a better place to work and serve.
This year, I am launching The Kindness Initiative. I’ll be providing a new element of this project every few weeks and will look forward to sharing these ideas with you and looking for your participation and feedback. I am willing to be on the side of the equation that shows most people are kind and that small acts of kindness can have tremendous impact.
This month, I want you to make a New Year’s resolution to be kind to yourself. Too often in the challenging environment of healthcare we put ourselves after other demands. I would like to know that you are putting your needs higher in the mix.
Please make a promise to treat yourself with kindness. As I make my rounds, I may be asking you what you will do for yourself this year to make your own world a better place.
With all best wishes for 2023,
Robert Corona, DO, MBA
